Sitting and Guiding
What is sitting and guidework?
A support counseling and coaching service that has been shown to have positive benefits and outcomes with respect to helping individuals with deep healing on physical and psychological levels as well as with spiritual growth and self development and discovery. A practice that can help alleviate and resolve past traumas, including individual, familial, and ancestral.
Psychedelic therapy is a therapeutic framework that combines aspects traditional “western” medicine and approach with indigenous and traditional medicines and approaches. This broad ranging paradigm has a wide breadth of applicability. Some of the many intentions behind psychedelic guidework are changing habits, understanding trauma, managing and remedying conditions such as depression and anxiety, changing perspective, among other things.
My approach is philosophically based, but my stances are empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental. Utilizing modes of thought that are deep, penetrating, and critical along with the implementation and use of ceremony and ritual, I help apply the proper insights and practices from various traditions and paradigms to help journeyers navigate and process their experiences.
Music is my co-guide, helping to guide and sway the trajectory of psychedelic experiences and states. I craft a custom playlist for each journey relative to their intents and goals in seeking out psychedelic guidework. The music evokes a wide arrange of feelings and states; grounded and centered, intense love and joy, ecstatic wonder, somber, motivated, resolved, understanding, and more.
Why Guidework is Valuable
There is more than one right way to do this work. I find that almost all modalities and practices in this sphere have their pros and cons and I focus on bringing together the most pros for a given journeyer in their specific situation. This means that I am constantly learning and studying in order to provide the best experience possible. Some modalities that I will employ are derived from areas of psychology such as transpersonal psychology, somatic awareness and guidance, ideals and symbolism from religion and mysticism, and a unique deployment of philosophically positioned exploration and interaction.
This type of work and practice can bring about a plethora of benefits; help in understanding and overcoming addiction and reformatting other cognitive patterns, cope with and heal trauma, self-exploration and discovery, and spiritual growth and development.
My approach bridges the clinical and traditional, using ceremony and ritual to prime ones mind appropriately for the experience and elicit powerful, mind-altering, life-changing experiences.
